We had an amazing day out with Captain Dave and mate Matt! Even though the trip was right after a storm, they went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time on the water. Their knowledge, professionalism, and positive energy made the whole experience enjoyable and stress-free. They worked hard to put us on fish and kept the trip fun from start to finish. – we’ll definitely be booking with them again!

From start to finish, this fishing charter exceeded all expectations. Captain Dave and first mate Matt were not only professional and knowledgeable but also incredibly friendly and fun to be around. They made everyone—from beginners to seasoned anglers—feel right at home. The boat was spotless, well-equipped, and super comfortable. We hit some great fishing spots, and thanks to the captain’s expertise, we were reeling in fish in no time! We caught a beautiful fluke, sea bass and scup which was a bucket-list moment for me. What really stood out was how the crew went the extra mile to ensure everyone had a great time. They shared tips, told great stories, and even helped clean and pack the fish for us to take home. Captain Dave and hand Matt were fantastic. They made sure everyone in the party knew how to use the gear. They offered suggestions to those of us having difficulty keeping the fish on the line. They always had an extra rod baited up, assisted with the occasional untangle, and were just great guys to talk to. We moved to a few areas, had to rewatch the drift a few times but by the end we were pulling something up every couple of minutes. We caught a scup, fluke and black sea bass, and they filleted all of them for us. I would recommend using email direct with Captain Dave as I was not sure if the fishing booker messaging service was fully going through.

Captain Dave and 1st Mate, Matt, were outstanding. Knowledgeable, helpful and personable. There were 5 of us and we each caught at least one striper. One was a 50-pounder. Hooked a couple sharks as a bonus, one of which we fought for 30 minutes. We also did some bottom fishing and caught sea bass and flounder. Matt filleted some of the sea bass for the night’s dinner. It was a great day, and we’ll definitely book with Spear-it next summer.

Went out fishing on a day that had rough conditions because the timing was the only thing that worked to celebrate Father’s Day with my BF, his kids, and my dad. The captain gave me the option of postponing (which was really awesome and would have been desired if our schedules allowed), but we went for it. No regrets. We caught fish, learned a lot from the crew, and enjoyed the water. The on board toilet was helpful, too. Really enjoyed the time and will go back for a longer trip, soon!

Capt. David is the best around. We chartered a trip with him and had a blast! We caught big fish, and tasty fish. Him and his mate were both very knowledgeable of the Island kinda giving us a guided tour along with our fishing adventures! Highly recommend fishing with Capt. Dave!!!

What a fun time we had with Dave and Mick. They were very accommodating and when the Stripers didn't bite got us on Sea Bass, etc. and we caught over 200 fish in a couple hours, it was wild. Thanks so much guys for all your hard work, My Boys will remember this for a long time!

Me and my wife had a great time with Dave and his son Zach. I hadn't actually spearfished since our honeymoon in Hawaii which was 5 years ago. Dans knowledge of the area and sport itself were invaluable. Even though the conditions weren't ideal he was able to put us on fish. I would highly recommend his services and hope to come back again someday.

I would recommend the Spear-It charter to anyone as it was the best charter I have ever been on. The four of us caught and kept 16 fish that included blue fish, sea bass and mackerel and threw back at least 10 fish including 2 fluke. Both Captain David and first mate Jimmy are very adroit fishermen, know the waters very well and were very personable, which made the trip exciting and fun from start to finish. They even recommended a restaurant that cooked our fish that evening, which was great since we were in the area on vacation. Thank you again Captain David and Jimmy! You will be our only call next time we are in the area to fish!

Dave and his son Zach will show you an amazing day on the water whether you are a beginner or expert. They are a lot of fun and know how to find the fish. Going out with Dave is something I will look forward to for many years to come.

Captain Dave is a legend in the spear fishing community. His ability to put both beginners and experienced divers on the fish, every time, is incredible. Freakish really. I can’t recommend Spear- It charters highly enough.
